Blue Bird

This card is for today's Mojo Monday. It is such a fun sketch! This Maya Road chipboard was inked with old olive. Did I tell you that I like my new copics?? :-) The bird was colored with BG10, B12 and C-1. I used YG95 for the tiny line of the wing...you can't even see it in this picture but it ties the olive in so nicely.
Recipe:
Stamps: anniversary birds, thoughtful florals
Paper: old olive, whisper white, everyday tango (My Mind's Eye)
Ink: brilliance graphite black, old olive
Accessories: scallop frame (Maya Road), copics, slit punch, word window

Piggie Love

This card is for the MFT sketch in the SCS forum. Cindy ALWAYS has the greatest sketches with the cutest samples! This was a real quick one too. I really am not sure why I picked these pigs....a bit odd, I know! I think I just wanted to color them in! :-) Can't put these copics down! This card used RV21, R32 and C-1.

Ink: brilliance graphite black, basic black
Accessories: slit punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, copics, brocade ribbon, felt shapes (making memories), blue thread

Happy to Case Laura

Yesterday's Featured Stamper is the talented Laura! I was immediately drawn to this one: Ruby Red Blossom Verve. I really like the new Verve sets so couldn't resist the opportunity to ink them up! I changed the colors, sentiment, and layout a little bit. I am in LOVE with my new copics! They are SO gorgeous! Thank you, AJ, for enabling me! Good thing I don't live in the Seattle area or I would be back at Impress buying another 10! :-)
Recipe:
Stamps: happy thoughts, thankful blossoms
Paper: gable green, blush blossom, whisper white, basic black
Ink: brilliance graphite black
Accessories: celery ribbon, scallop punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, polka dot brads (AB), copics, corner rounder

***edited*** I used copic ciaos markers on this card. Here are the numbers: RV21, R32 for the flowers, YG11 & YG06 for the leaves, and C-1 to blend.

Not Always

I played quite a bit with this card. The bird is triple layered with dimensionals for today's Technique Challenge on SCS. I used my ticket corner punch around the entire circle and then randomly pierced the edges. I sponged the edges too and then used my blender pen to make a regal rose edge. It was fun to try some new things and go outside my stamping box! :-) This sketch is from Jen's Sketch For You To Try.

Apron Recipe Pocket

Weekend Sketch with Flowers

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge is to use an embellishment that you often have regretting buying! Believe me, I have a ton of neglected embellishments that looked fabulous in the store and I can't figure out how to add to my cards. Or they are so completely out of my style that I never even think to reach for them. I just had to have these flower brads! Why? Sure, they are fantastic but they are so not me!! :-)
This card uses Beate's weekend sketch. She is so creative and sweet! I always look forward to her weekend sketches.
I am off to the west side of the state for a weekend of family and stamping!! I can't wait to meet some of my SCS friends on Saturday night! I will be sure to take some pictures!! :-) Since I will be out of town, I most likely won't be posting till Sunday evening. Have a great weekend!

We Will Meet You On the Other Side

This year has gone by fast.....

Feb. 1st, 1952 - Mar. 19th, 2007

For Lee

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So He put his arms around you
And whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away,
And though we loved you dearly
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best

Thanks for stopping by,
