Haunted Treat Box

Today's technique challenge on SCS is this adorable little pizza box by Jen. I LOVE it!! I decided to use my oval nestabilities die-cut to make a vellum window into the box. The haunted bat was stamped on with stazon and then I rubbed some really rust around it to make it aged. The dp on the top was actually ripped open and each paper edge was distressed with my cutter kit.
Stamps: haunted
Paper: haunted dp, PTI, vellum
Ink: stazon, really rust
Accessories: black brads, Haunted blackboard and adhesive die cuts, rhinestone stickers, sponge daubers, haunted ribbon, cutters kit, oval nestablities, spica glitter pen

LEGO My Haunted Box

Today's technique challenge on SCS is a fun little acetate treat box. Super easy and perfect for holding those Halloween treats!! Of course, I never have any treats in the house so I was on the hunt for something to put in my Haunted box........Maxwell helped me pick out the spookiest Legos we had! He even put the skeleton one right between the ghoulish hand!
Recipe:
Paper: Haunted dp (Cosmo Cricket), acetate, elegant eggplant, basic black
Ink: white craft
Accessories: 1 3/8" circle punch, icons, haunted rubons, haunted chipboard, heat & stick powder, dazzling diamonds, may arts ribbon, scallop punch

Did you all check out Julie's fabulous blackboard ideas?? Well, I thought I would show you how to make that blackboard dazzle! Super easy!
1. Press your blackboard onto a craft ink.
2. Cover with some heat & stick powder.
3. Heat powder and then cover with glitter.
4. Reheat to set the glitter!
I used the same technique for this Spooked card I posted earlier. The only difference is I used some paint to cover the blackboard first. Have fun with it!

I hope that you all had a great LONG weekend! Here are some Unity challenges that I have been meaning to post.

H&M Preview

This little gift card holder is for today's technique challenge. I used one of the H&M stamps that is coming out on Friday, Sea Life. It actually took longer than it should have because I was playing around with my fiskars texture plates....trying to get them through my cuttlebug. I know you can buy a pad to make it work but I was just playing with what I had. I ended up using a piece of foam so the embossing is very light BUT it worked!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Sea Life
Paper: blue bayou textured, soft sky, creamy caramel, whisper white, spring break dp
Ink: brilliance graphite black
Accessories: copper eyelets, twine, copics, fiskars textured plate, cuttlebug

Be sure to check out the fabulous H&M blog candy from earlier.

Featured Stampers

I really do hate missing the SCS challenges. Sometimes, in order to get them done, you have to double up!
This first card is for today's featured stamper, Kharmagirl! She has such a beautiful gallery! I decided on this card: Thinking of You. I kept the basic layout and the sentiment but changed the stamp, paper, colors, and added ribbon. The ribbon is stacked for Monday's Technique Lover's Challenge: Stacked ribbon.
Recipe:
Stamps: tulips (american art stamps), circle of friendship
Paper: sugared dp (basicgrey), pretty in pink, chocolate chip, whisper white
Ink: brilliance graphite black, chocolate chip
Accessories: olive satin ribbon (offray), pink grosgrain ribbon (offray), glazed brads (basicgrey), corner rounder, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1" circle punch, sponge dauber, copics (0, C-1, E00, RV21, R32, R35, YG06, YG11, YG95), blender pen

This card is for last week's featured stamper, Kristi. This was a new gallery for me and it took some time to actually decide on a card amongst all the gorgeous creations! I finally picked Timeworn Trim. I also used a basicgrey rub on for the sentiment. This was last week's Way To Use It Challenge: Now Here's the Rub.
Recipe:
Stamps: tart & tangy
Paper: creamy caramel, rose red, whisper white, chocolate chip
Ink: rose red, old olive
Accessories: two scoops rub-ons (basicgrey), chocolate brads, ribbon (American craft)

Not Always

I played quite a bit with this card. The bird is triple layered with dimensionals for today's Technique Challenge on SCS. I used my ticket corner punch around the entire circle and then randomly pierced the edges. I sponged the edges too and then used my blender pen to make a regal rose edge. It was fun to try some new things and go outside my stamping box! :-) This sketch is from Jen's Sketch For You To Try.
Recipe:
Stamps: Always
Paper: gable green, whisper white, everyday tango dp (Me Mind's Eye)
Ink: gable green, pumpkin pie, regal rose
Accessories: regal ribbon, green brads, ticket corner punch, coluzzle, stampin dimensionals, blender pen, sponge daubers, paper piercer

Today's Technique Challenge on SCS is so fun! You brayer or ink up the negative side of the cuttlebug folder before running it through the machine! What an awesome effect!

Simple Monday: One of A Kind

Can you believe it is Monday already? Boy, the weekends go fast! Here is quick one I finished during nap time today. I actually took part of a nap today....:-)
This card is also for today's Technique Lovers Challenge on SCS: I'm All Mixed UP. You were suppose to use 2 or more different designer papers. I chose a flocked polka dotted paper and a glittered lined paper from Chelsea's Place by Making Memories. You really have to feel this paper in person....the glitter is embossed and the dots are so fuzzy! The button is from the same line. Isn't it fabulous?
Recipe:
Stamps: One of a Kind
Paper: Chelsea's place dp (Making Memories), certainly celery, blush blossom, very vanilla, kraft
Ink: chocolate chip
Accessories: celery ribbon, stickles, button (making memories)
Ink: chocolate chip

Envelope Pouch

Tomorrow's technique challenge was posted early so I thought I would whip it out tonight. I usually try not to post at night, even if I make the cards, because I have the worst time getting the image right. Hope that the boys will be all feeling better tomorrow. So back to the challenge....this envelope pouch was so easy! Just lick an envelope closed, punch a little, stamp away and you are done!! I used the dotted lines jumbo wheel stamp in different directions and colors to make the background.
Recipe:
Stamps: Far East (Lizzie Anne), dotted lines
Paper: Tres Jolie dp (My Mind's Eye), very vanilla
Ink: chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, really rust, old olive
Accessories: olive ribbon, scallop punch, round tab punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

Funky Technique

All the boys are asleep so I finally have some stamp time! :-) This card is for Monday's Try a New Technique challenge: Ink, Spray & Smash. I was a bit leery about how this would come out, it kind of reminds me of a tie dyed shirt. You spray glossy white paper with water, drop some ink, spray another white glossy paper and smash them together. I am limited in my reinker colors. I used real red and almost amethyst.
Recipe:
Stamps: always
Paper: basic black, glossy white
Ink: real red, almost amethyst, basic black
Accessories: paper piercer, black brads, color confetti ribbon (Offray)
