Hip Hop Thursday!

We are celebrating the end of school today!! :) Are your teacher thank yous ready?? Be sure to start the hop at the Unity blog for some school inspired fun!

Here is a quick gift set for Maxwell's teacher. I used one of my favorites, School Rock Star kit. Not sure what we will put into the bag for her yet but the Starbuck's card is ready to go! :)

And another peek (day 2) of the June Kit of the Month.......SWEET!!!

Here is a look at the Everyday Adorable kit.

Finally, I was inspired by my dear husband for this one with Little Me.
Today is his 37th birthday! :) Isn't he a cutie? This picture is of me & him at a Seahawk's game last fall. It is hard for me to believe that I met this wonderful man when he was 21. We were married with our first little one and living in Japan by the time he was 23. My how time flies! Happy Birthday Jason & Jamie (his twin sister)! :)

-Notes-
  1. these projects all used products from the Early Bird line by Cosmo Cricket.
  2. The big ribbon was purchased HERE. :)
  3. So no video link today...I am taking a week off to get caught up on some things. :)

Hip Hopping & Twirling Thursday

Hip Hop! Make sure you start at the Unity blog so you don't miss any of the inspiration! :)
For today's Hip Hop, Unity Stamp Company is honoring our heroes.
Who is your hero?
I had to think about that one. There are a collection of people that I look up to, admire, and strive to emulate but the one person who I look up to the most is my grandmother, GG. Although she lives on the other side of the country, she has been a constant source of unconditional love. :) Here is a picture holding Calvin a few years back. :)

I made a up pop-up card for hip hop today! The pop-up element actually twirls as you open and close it! So fun!!

Of course, I did another video tutorial to help you along if you wanted to give this technique a whirl. :) Be sure to check it out HERE.

*I also wanted to answer a couple chalk cloth questions from last week's Hip Hop project. I bought the chalk cloth precut at a local craft store, Craft Warehouse. I think that you can also buy it by the yard at some fabric stores. If I find an online vendor I will be sure to post it!*

You're Tweet

Here is my take at Kristina's Color Inspiration #52:

I used the paper piecing technique for the bird and played around with my punches a bit. I used a star punch to make the mustard strip. I tried to make it progressively angle upwards to lead the eye towards the image.

Stamps: everyday adorable
Paper: MME pp, SU cardstock
Ink: memento
Accessories: signo white gel pen, BG brads, SU star punch, PTI ribbon

Feeling a Bit Sketchy......

This quick card is for today's SCS sketch challenge.

Monday, Monday.....

Good morning! We are a bit slow around here this gorgeous Monday morning! Gearing up for a fantastic week! :) Maxwell will be turning 8 on Saturday.

We went to Silverwood on Saturday for an early celebration and then cooled down in the sprinklers on Sunday. Look what I caught on film! Luckily for Max, Calvin was actually enjoying himself. :) Stinker!

This is a quick card Calvin & I made for him. Calvin loves making cards. :)

We used the Crate Orbit Collection.....perfect for an eight year old boy! :) The alien and scallop bottom are diecuts. Calvin helped add some stickers for the sentiment and we used a couple Sassafras brads for the eyes.

Be sure to check out these fabulous b-day cards:

Cosmo Cricket/Tattered Angels Blog Hop

Last week, Natasja Verbeek, Cheryl McAdam and Trisha Ladouceur showed how
Cosmo Cricket
and Tattered Angels worked so well together!
Today is my turn......

I had a hard time capturing the glimmer in my photos. I wish you could see them irl! :)
For the card, I used some suede glimmer mist along a kraft card base. The Early Bird Brunch patterned paper was also sprayed with bronze glimmer mist, along with the border and sentiment.

This LO is of my son and my brother. Aren't they adorable? There is glimmer mist all over it. :) I wish that you could see the shine. :) Bronze was sprayed along the Apron Strings patterned paper. I cut out a journal element and stamped the 'say cheese' sentiment from the Jacks World stamp set. I also used some Bronze glimmer on the Get Happy blackboard letters. The pear adhesive chipboard is from the Early Bird line. I used it to trace another pear and then sprayed it with Meadow Green & Olive Vine and popped it out next to the chipboard one.
More info on Tattered Angels:
Tattered Angels website
Tattered Angels weblog

Be sure to hop over to Danielle Layton, Michelle Jackson & Sally Lynn MacDonald to see what magic they made. :)

And don't forget to check out next week and the week after for more Cosmo & TA creations........................

Triple Challenge!

It has been FOREVER since I have participated in any SCS challenges. I tried to make up for it and do a triple challenge! This card is for WT217 Kool KRAFT challenge, this week's sketch challenge AND today's Inspiration challenge. I was inspired by this fun pillow.
I used some more EARLY BIRD by Cosmo Cricket: Cherry Pie & Farmers Market. The cherry bling is a brad from Creative Imaginations. I stamped the 'Sweet' (Unity Stamp Company May Kit of the Month) sentiment in brilliance ink.

Bee Yourself.....

Here is a super simple card for Kristina's Color Inspiration #51. I stamped Worn Grid in more mustard along the bottom of the base and then used a Girl Friday rubon (Cosmo Cricket) for the sentiment. The mustard cardstock is fringed. You can see how to do it from a video tutorial that I posted last week <CLICK HERE>. I used some Girl Friday patterned paper and then tied it off with a PTI chocolate ribbon bow. :) SUPER EASY!

Early Bird!

LOVE this new line by Cosmo Cricket! :) Don't you??

I cut out one of the Early Bird elements and added some adhesive chipboard. The paper is both sides of Ribbon Sandwich. I cut along the scalloped edge of the striped side and then used a SU scallop punch to add a scalloped edge on the graph side. Super easy! :)

This card uses both sides of the Sunrise patterned paper. I added the adhesive chipboard branch, music notes & bird and cut out the sentiment from the borders. A little bling and it was done! :)
