Go-to Friends

Happy Tuesday! Time for more Go-to Sketches fun!

The world of crafting is a community. When I started card making & blogging, I never knew the friends that I would make, the support I would get, and the general sense of belonging that I would have. ALL from crafting in my home. AMAZING!

Today, we are playing with sketches. :) Each Go-to Gal invited five fellow crafters to show their stuff!! :)

Are you ready for some inspiration?
This is the go-to sketch that I picked for my friends to play along with---(see below)

What do you think?
Here is a little card that I made following the sketch. :)

Stamps: distressed dots background, Feel the Joy, Where You Are Ink: memento tuxedo black, versamark watermark, ranger distress ink black soot Paper: Papertrey Ink cardstock Accessories: Papertrey Ink ribbon, sponge, copic markers

I can't wait to see what these talented girls came up with!

Amy Sheffer Amy is one of the first card makers that I followed. It wasn't too long ago when I was trying my hand at crafting and blogging about it. She always posted such inspiring cards and left encouraging comments that I was quick to add her to my list . She oozes sweetness and is so humble about her amazing talent.

Carolyn King My pal. We met a year ago last January and instantly bonded. Not only is she a genius with stamps but she also would make the BEST neighbor EVER. If I can only convince her to move to the Northwest. WOW....just thinking about that possiblity (as far fetched as it is) makes me happy! :)

Joclyn Nielson Ahh.....Joclyn is pure genius. Card maker, stamp illustrator, photographer...she does it all! She has such a clean and simple style but always adds something extra. So unique and inspiring. AND she is pure sweet.

Julie Campbell I might be Julie's number one fan! :) She magically crosses shabby chic with simple and fresh. She makes me feel like I can be shabby too! :) Now that is inspiring..isn't it? Making ME feel like I can do shabby! :)

Lisa Johnson We really are sisters. Doesn't it look like it? Well...sort of. :) At least, I think we should be! :) I feel at home with her around...does that make sense? Her name speaks for itself. Lisa = talent.

Would you like to WIN a copy of Go-to Sketches?

Just leave a comment HERE telling me about a/some friend(s) that you have made crafting.

You will also want to comment over on Paper Crafts Connection AND the go-to friends' blogs PLUS each of the Go-to Gals blogs AND their friends. All commenters will be collected and 3 LUCKY winners will get a copy! Lots of chances to WIN...so go ahead..comment so you increase your chances. :)

Go-to Sketches

Happy MONDAY Morning! It is Go-to Sketches week over at Paper Crafts Connection & Moxie Fab World. Woo HOO! The Go-to Gals are playing along all week too....so LOTS of fun & excitement ahead!

Do you have your copy yet? It is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I seriously could have eaten it for Easter dinner. :) Okay...I am sort of joking. :)

Each of us Go-to Gals came up with 11 different sketches for the publication. I tried to create sketches that would appeal to designers of ALL levels and styles because I know what it is like to be a newbie and needing a little push to get the creative juices going. :)

These sketches were then sent out to some AMAZING designers. The genius editors over at Paper Crafts picked out the BEST of the BEST for each sketch. It always amazes me how they balance style AND occasion. What a TASK. :)

Then Matt, the art director, took over and created a WHITELICIOUS masterpiece that even Luke Skywalker would drool over. :)

Back in September, we were asked to pick a color to wear for the photo shoot. Of course, I relied on my stylish friend, Jimmi, for help. She informed me that 'purple' was the IN color. BOY was she right! There were hundreds of purple shirt options last fall. YEAH!!
As many of you know, I laugh when I am nervous...and when things are funny...and when there is too much attention on me...and not only do I laugh BUT I also laugh a bit louder than most. Well...let's just say that I laughed A LOT during the photo shoot.

It is amazing that 6 women can meet and instantly bond. I made 5 friends in about 5 minutes that I will treasure for a lifetime. And yes, it was EXTREMELY difficult to NOT laugh for the group shot! :)

I am so proud of the way that Go-to Sketches came out and honored to have been apart of it. It came together magically. The sketches have ENDLESS possibilities.

You can even use them for your scrapbooking! :) :) Here is a little mini-book that I put together using some of my favorite sketches from Teri, Kim K, Kim H., Betsy & Jess. :) It is of some of My Go-to Favorite Peeps. :) I haven't journaled yet...there are stories to be written down about rental vans, games, and lots of laughter....but I will get to that soon. I noted the page number of the sketch that each LO corresponds with for your reference.

Teri's sketch on page 12. :)

Kim H's sketch on page 64 & Kim K's sketch on page 86

Betsy's sketch on p. 126 & Jessica's sketch on p. 144

Kim H's sketch on p. 68 & Kim K's sketch on p. 92

Betsy's sketch on p. 128

Be sure to hop on over to Paper Crafts Connection & Moxie Fab World for more fun.

Also, you won't want to miss the other outtakes from the shoot....... :)

Hope you have a thrilling Monday. Enjoy all the possibilities that come with a new week! :)
